Good coaching doesn't create dependence – it builds people's capacity to lead themselves and others. This training explores what effective coaching looks like in organising, where the goal isn't just personal development but collective power-building.

Through practical exercises and proven frameworks, you'll learn to diagnose different types of challenges your team faces, practise a five-step coaching process, and develop powerful questions that help people find their own answers. You'll explore the mindset and skills of an effective coach, and get hands-on practice coaching real scenarios with fellow participants.

Outcomes:

  • Understand effective coaching in the context of organising.
  • Practise frameworks for coaching organisers and leaders.
  • Reflect on how you can apply these principles to your own work.

This training is part of our foundations series, designed for both new and experienced organisers who are ready to develop practical organising skills. We recommend taking the introduction training first to understand the core concepts of transformative community organising.
