About us
Mothership listens to mums. We're creating infrastructure for mums to finally be listened to so they can share what they know, and create real change. We believe mums already have the wisdom - we just need to listen and help them find solutions.
What will you do?
This is hands-on, grassroots work. You'll be:
- Working with leadership to refine our local strategy
- Organising 4-5 small-scale community events, and supporting with the delivery of a local community fete
- Engaging with mum-led initiatives already happening in your area
- Finding connections and building a network of local mums
- Feeding back to the team and providing regular updates
The details
- 3 days per week, working remotely (£250/day + project-related expenses)
- 3 month project, fixed term contract
- Flexible working hours, remote working with family-friendly core hours of 9:30 to 12:00.

- We're engaging one organiser in North West England (Wigan) and one in East London (Barking)
You might be right for this if:
- You have experience in events or community organising
- You're from the local area and know it well (or recently moved there)
- You have trusted networks in the area, especially ones relating to families and parents
- You love people and are confident with working with mothers from a range of backgrounds
- You believe in the power of mums and bringing them together
- You're enthusiastic about creating a healthier culture for mums
- You’re able to travel to various project locations
- You are organised and reliable
