Introducing Community Organising
Community organising is a leadership practice that transforms hope and anger into collective action. By building the power of ordinary people, this approach enables communities to drive meaningful social change. Our introductory course provides a foundation of learning to support you in understanding the essential role of organisers and the core principles of community organising as a dynamic, collaborative practice.
In this course, you will:
- Learn what community organising is.
- Learn the role of an organiser.
- Learn what power means in organising.
- Learn how to build teams.

Introducing Collective Care
Collective care is the foundational work of social movements and is rooted in Act Build Change’s approach to community organising. Our course explores how teams can cultivate shared responsibility, accountability, and well-being, creating the conditions for transformative change.
The skills of creating genuine belonging, challenging each other with compassion, and maintaining mutual accountability are not something you are born with — you learn them through practising them and this requires intention, commitment, and continuous reflection.
In this course, you will:
- Learn what is meant by the term collective care.
- Explore the noble purpose framework and why work seen as more noble can create conflict and difficult behaviours.
- Begin to think about implementing boundaries that can support you with care.

What is Coming Next
In the upcoming months, we'll enhance our introductory courses with video and animation to support more people in acting collectively, building power, and creating meaningful change. We'll also introduce in-depth courses for our paying members to further develop their learning and practice.
Our ultimate goal is to support your efforts in winning changes that secure freedom and dignity for everyone. Watch this space!
