Community Engagement Manager at Kent Wildlife Trust
Looking for a leader in community engagement and organising to develop and increase the number of people in Kent taking action for nature.
Online / Maidstone | 31 Aug 2025
This role has three key priorities:
- To use community and stakeholder engagement to ensure coexistence of people and wildlife in Kent.
- To use community organising to empower people in Kent to take meaningful action for nature.
- To lead our social science work, ensuring use of an evidence-based approach.
This exciting role will lead a team of community organisers (the Wilder Engagement team) to deliver these key elements.
People & Wildlife Coexistence - You will develop key relationships with stakeholders to make a real difference for nature in Kent. You will help support people and wildlife to coexist across Kent, particularly on species and landscape restoration projects with pine marten, beavers, red-billed choughs and bison. You will build relationships with, empower and enable stakeholders to work alongside KWT to co-design these landscape restoration and species re-introduction projects.
Action for Nature - Your role is central to connecting with and empowering local communities. You will use community organising approaches to bring people together for themselves and wildlife working with underrepresented groups. You will enable people to help themselves through supporting the design and delivery of a series of facilitated and sustainable activities leading to a ripple effect of people taking action for nature and the climate.
Social Science - You will lead our social science delivery, in collaboration with the Monitoring & Evidence team, ensuring an evidence-based approach is used throughout our work. Which will ensure effective monitoring and evaluation of our impact so that we can continue to adapt and improve our approach.
