A Collective Care Workbook for Organisers

A tool to support community organisers to strengthen and build collective care in their organising practice.

An illustration of hands coming in from the left and right of the image and clasping in the middle. Each hand and clothing from each arm are different, implying different people reaching out to each other. There are three pairs, one behind each other forming an archway, with a sun in the background.

We are excited to launch our Collective Care Workbook for Organisers, an online resource to support community organisers to strengthen and build collective care in their organising practice.

About the workbook

This workbook is designed for community organisers and is divided into sections based on theme.

The workbook begins with an introduction and opportunity to make intentions around how you will use the resource. Each theme then contains teaching, activities and tools to build care in your organising:

  • Organising relationships and care.
  • Boundaries and organising.
  • Navigating stress and urgency.
  • Anti-oppression and intersectionality.
  • Joy and celebration.
  • Rest and recovery.
  • Building caring teams.

At the end of the workbook we include a list of helpful resources.

How to use the workbook

The content in the workbook will benefit from reflection and discussion so we recommend that you take your time and try to do all of the activities. If you are working through the workbook independently, we recommend that you choose an accountability buddy to reflect on the learnings with.

Alongside exploring this resource we encourage that you attend our live trainings on collective care (see our Events page for upcoming trainings), as being supported by a trained care practitioner is invaluable.
